Academics

Joining a sorority in college is a life-changing experience, but garnering an education is the top priority for Kappa. This is why each chapter is expected to maintain academic standards equal to or higher than their university’s or college’s all-sorority GPA. Additionally, each chapter establishes a GPA requirement for active members.

If a Kappa struggles academically, we help her through it. The Academic Excellence Team meets with her to craft an improvement plan using study tactics and time management. We want each sister to leave college with what they came for: a degree.

We highly value academics in Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Vice President of Academic Excellence, works with everyone to make sure they are succeeding by providing resources and guidance on academic-related topics. We have tutoring resources, as well as sisters, and provide other sisters with assistance and tutoring throughout the year. Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters have high GPAs and can maintain their academics as well as staying involved in Kappa. Our Academic Excellence Committee works hard to recognize and support our sisters in their academic endeavors. They host various academic-related events for Kappas such as finals study sessions, academic deans list reward brunches, and encourage success by offering rewards and recognizing our sisters who have outstanding academic achievements! The Vice President of Academic Excellence is an important resource to all Kappas and makes sure that Kappas are receiving the love and support that they need to succeed academically.

If you have any questions about academics, feel free to reach out to our Vice President of Academic Excellence, Rachel Kimball, at kkg.vpacademics.calpoly@gmail.com
