You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every chapter of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today. Read more about our chapters’ histories at Kappapedia.
All across the United States and Canada, there are over 140 Kappa chapters with more than 250,000 active members. We, here at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, are proud to be the Eta Rho chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma! Eta Rho was established at Cal Poly on March 2, 2013, just recently celebrating our fourth birthday. Though we are relatively new to our campus, the history and tradition of Kappa Kappa Gamma runs deep in our chapter and guides us as we continue to grow and establish ourself at Cal Poly.
In the past four years since our founding, Eta Rho has welcomed eight pledge classes and over 300 women into our chapter and we are continuing to grow! Currently, we have about 245 active members in our chapter and we are so excited to welcome new girls home to Kappa this fall after formal recruitment! (If you are interested in going though formal recruitment at Cal Poly, click here!)
We are so excited to see what the future holds for our sisterhood as we continue to grow and leave a positive impact on our campus and the community.
