Sisterhood

Kappa Kappa Gamma is about more than philanthropy and social events—it's about the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood. Our amazing and diverse sisters give us the unique sisterhood that we are so incredibly lucky to be a part of. The Eta Rho chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma works to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood through fun activities and sisterhood events! Each fall, our sisters gather together for our recruitment prep week, which is filled with hangouts, karaoke nights, and pool parties. Our chapter also puts on a lot of smaller sisterhood events throughout the year, such as making friendship bracelets, painting tote bags, going to the beach, and having dinner as a chapter! Our sisters also spend their time hiking, camping, and just relaxing together! ​Whether we're venting about a rough week, exploring San Luis Obispo, or getting some sun at the beach, it's nice to know our sisters will always be by our side!

Big / Little 

Finding your family in Kappa is one of the best parts of our sisterhood, and making a close personal connection changes your college experience for the better. During the new member period, prospective big and little sisters go on a series of "Key Sis" dates. Older members take new members out for coffee, lunch, ice cream, a study date, or a hike as a way to get to know each other and the chapter better. The bond between a big sister and a little sister is one that will last forever. Your big sister is there to be a mentor, a friend, a support system, and a helping hand when you need it. New members are welcomed into a family of sisters, each with their own special bond. 

During Big / Little Week, big sisters spoil their little sisters with baskets filled with personal art pieces, apparel, their favorite snacks and drinks, and so much more! Members love going around and looking at all the amazing baskets the big sisters have spent so much time working on. Each day, big sisters give hints as to who they are, and tricks and white lies are a common theme to enhance the surprise. At the end of the week, new members come to the house for the reveal! It is always so exciting to watch everyone's reactions and the excitement on everyone's faces!
